Heather Brod

Sharon L. Stein MD, FACS FASCRS is a colon and rectal surgeon who has a passion for helping others.  Whether taking care of her patients, working for Doctors without Borders, or mentoring other surgeons, Sharon’s desire to make others succeed shines through.

Sharon has achieved great accolades as a surgeon both nationally and internationally: Professor of Surgery, Master Clinician, President of the Association of Women Surgeons, honorary fellowship in international societies.   She is a sought after speaker with over 300 national and international presentations, and author of a book on laparoscopic colectomy.

After performing thousands of surgeries, Sharon learned that skill in the operating room isn’t always enough to bring success or happiness outside of it.  Her journey has led her to develop a mastery of professional skills such as communication, negotiation and coaching, which she now uses to help others define their success and develop their voices.

She is thrilled to be opening The Surgeon's Lounge with Heather Brod.  "Together, we can create a supportive community for women surgeons, to help them identify, reach and love their professional aspirations."
